Lena Horne: 1917-2010

Ms. Horne passed away, yesterday, at the age of 92.

Yes, she was the first African-American to be signed under contact to a major movie studio.
A strong black woman who fought for interracial relationships to be depicted on the big screen, refused to sing for segregated U.S. troops during WWII and marched for civil rights.

But most important to us, she sang Lucy’s favorite version of the ABCs:

R.I.P. Ms. Horne, we’ll keep you in our “remember-y”.
