On a morning when Lu was missing me I told her that we could do whatever she wanted when I came home from work. Her response? “Let’s make me a new booster seat. A pink booster seat, Mama.”
This is what we came up with – the booster seat pattern came from the book One Yard Wonders that Ad bought for me when I was having a bad day. It works up super-quick and instead of using foam core I used buckwheat hulls in a Ziploc and some batting for cushyness. I did find that the fabric I used from Junie’s stash was too slippery on our chairs, so I glued a piece of shelf liner to the bottom.
Lucy decorated with flower stickers, her name, a big pink ribbon, and of course, big pink fake flowers.
This lasted for about a month or so, and then exploded.
Lesson learned – perhaps everything should not be made.
I’ll be hitting the Toys R Us later this week.
