Vinspiration – mending tiny pants

January seems to be the month of mending. Craftzine did a mending month last year, and Martha just caught up to the trend in 2011.

Mending was still cool back in 1971, when Blanche wrote in to McCalls:

“Have trouble mending jeans and slacks with small legs? A rolled-up magazine, inserted in leg, and unrolled, makes it easy to fit, pin, sew neat patches.”

A simple idea. Also, I love the word slacks. Can we bring that back? Or is that term strictly used to describe polyester pants in the 1970’s?
